BATU KARAS BEACH

LOCATION :
Batu Karas Beach is one of the popular beaches in Pangandaran Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Located in a village called Batukaras, part of Cijulang sub-district, Pangandaran Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia.

GET THERE :
⇉ By Motorcycle, there are many OJEKS (motorcycle taxis) in downtown Pangandaran, you can go with ojek charge around Rp100.000 or you can rent a motorcycle in Pangandaran for about Rp50.000 per day. From Pangandaran, it takes only 1 hour within 34 kms.
⇉ By Car, you can go there by car from Pangandaran via Pangandaran-Parigi-Cijulang-Green Canyon-Batu Karas route and takes about 1 hour as well. From Bandung, you can easily go by car and spend about 7-8 hours within 243 kms. If you want to get the navigation accurately, you can use GOOGLE MAPS. It is very easy and simply to use, but you need to connect to Internet of course.
⇉ By Bus, you can use local public transport (mini Bus) from Pangandaran terminal to Cijulang terminal with only 1.5 hours for about Rp10.000-20.000. From Cijulang terminal, you can continue with ojek to go to Batu Karas with cost around Rp10.000-20.000 for 20 minutes.
⇉ By Plane, Susi Air has regular services costing about Rp824.000 and taking a mere 1 hour from Jakarta (Halim P.K) (HLP) to Pangandaran (Nusawiru - Cijulang) (CJN). From Nusawiru airport at Cijulang, you can continue with ojek to go to Batu Karas cost about Rp10.000-20.000 for 30 minutes.

GET AROUND :
The best way to get around Pangandaran is on foot, but you can also rent a motorcycle by yourself for about Rp40,000-60,000 per day.

THE SITUATIONS/SCENERY/VIEW :
Batu Karas beach is quite calm and quiet but not deserted either. This beach offers you to enjoy stunning beach scenery, spectacular sunsets and spectacular sunrises, amazing waves for surfing, tranquil waves for swimming, dark sand with calm breezes, stunning blue oceans and amazing summer. This beach definitely makes you feel fun, relax, and have a captivating vacation.
There are many foreign tourists from all over the world as well. They usually surf, sunbathe, enjoy the sunset, or swim. So if you want to hunt tourists and try to speak english with foreign tourists, this place is the answer.
If the holidays come, this place is usually crowded and full, especially when the new year eve, this place has a lot of people and hold events at night.
When sunset or sunrise is coming, this beach is very beautiful. Many people spend their time enjoying this moment especially with their lovers. I suggest you to come at 5 PM if you want to enjoy the sunset or come at 5 AM to enjoy the sunrise.

ACTIVITIES :
👉 Surfing
There are two main areas for surfing: first, sandy area at the south end of the cove, and the second, intermediate reef area on the north part of the beach. Surfboards can be rented on the main beach for Rp50,000-75,000 per day, with cheaper rates for longer rental periods. Rental board quality is quite standard, but the softness of the wave makes long board is the most rentals.
👉 Swimming
This beach has tranquil waves and really perfect for swimming especially children. Water Tubes can be rented at the seashore at affordable prices. Children can also play sand on the beach.
👉 Sunbathe
Sunbathe is really good idea in the summer! Come here and enjoy the sun shine!
👉 Riding Banana Boat
You can ride banana boat with all of your friends and enjoy the sensation.
👉 Watching the spectacular sunset and sunrise
Enjoy the spectacular sunset and sunrise with your lover here. This place has a romantic sunset for sure.
👉 Jogging
Jogging in the morning is really fun here, of course. You can enjoy the scenery while you jogging here.
👉 Go in for sport
You can do beach volleyball or even futsal here.
👉 Picnic
You can picnic at the seashore with your family, friends, colleagues, or even with your lover. For moslems, you can take your family or friends for a picnic before ramadhan (Munggahan= Tradition of Sundanese people) here.
👉 Hunting Tourists
Do you want to improve your english skill ? Just come here! There are plenty of foreign tourists from all over the world. You can find them easily on the beach. Try to talk or interview them is really fun. They are very friendly and kind. So, don't worry to be ignored.
👉 Fishing
Fishing trips can be organised as well.
👉 Taking Pictures/Selfies
Show off to your friends on Instagram that you've been here! This place is very instagramable and so many wonderful spot areas to shot.
👉 Enjoying The Scenery
Sit under the trees, read book, listen to music on the headset, is awesome! You can relax and enjoy the scenery here. For those of you who love adventure, Batu Karas area offers a place that will be needed for hiking & camping. You can find a guide to take you to a place called Batu Nunggul/Karang Nunggal, which is a small coast and secluded beach that is beautiful and filled with rocks (big corals).
👉 Explore The Conservation of Mangrove Plants (Mangrove Forest)
You can explore The Conservation of Mangrove Plants (Mangrove Forest) near the beach. It should ride a motorcycle there in order to be fast for about 5 minutes, or if want to walk down the street, I recommend you to go there while jogging in the morning. This place is really beautiful, fresh, quiet, and very instagramable. I suggest you to bring the camera if you go there.

FACILITIES :
👉 Hotel, Bungalow, Homestay, Resort, Cottage, Villa, Lodge, Inn.
There are plenty of places for you to sleep, so don't worry about that. The price is around Rp100.000-1.000.000 per night (may change), and you can access it easily. The people are very friendly and kind as well.
👉 Large Parking Area
The Parking Area is quite large and wide, but when the holidays come, this area usually full and crowded.
👉 Restaurants and Cafeterias
There a lot of Restaurants and Cafes that are always available everywhere and sell a variety of foods and beverages. Price? Absolutely affordable.
👉 Stores
When you want to shop any souvenirs, the stores are always available in every corner. They sell a variety of souvenirs, clothes, coral ornaments, accessories, and so on.
👉 Mosque
Don't worry about finding the mosque. There is always a mosque for you to take a pray.
👉 Toilets
If you need to go to the toilet, there are plenty of toilets you can use. Usually you need to pay Rp2.000-5.000.
👉 ATM

👉 Ojeks (motorcycle taxis)

👉 Rent Surfboard, Water Tubes, etc.
